Do you make custom sizes?

Yes; every frame is custom designed and cut to size.

What about custom shapes?

We can supply most custom shapes, including angles and some curves.

Can I cantilever my frame?

Yes; this is easily achieved in most applications.

How low can I build my deck to the ground?

External decks can be built very close to the ground. Often as low as 20mm to the bottom of the frame.

How do I support a very low deck frame?

If the frame is too low for stumps, it can be supported on “L” shaped proprietary brackets instead. These are available from Bunnings.

Are joists on top of bearers or in-plain?

Frames are made as in-plain Panels, where the bearers are at the same level as the joists, (with the tops of the joists level and flush with the tops of the bearers).

How deep are the frames?

All frames are low profile in-plain systems. We have two standard Panel depths of 185mm (for frames with joist spans up to 3.8m), and 235mm deep (for Panels up to 5.0m joist span).

Can I have a lower profile frame for very low decks?

Yes; you can have special 115mm deep frames, which are also available, except in Western Australia.

Can I have verandah posts to roof and/or rail height instead of stumps?

Yes; the floor frame can be easily fixed to full height posts with the brackets we supply.

Do I need special tools?

No; everything is tek screwed together, with no welding or bolts needed to assemble the frame.

Do you supply bolts or fixings to footings or the existing structure?

No; these are site specific and should be specified and supplied by others to suit the site conditions specifically.

Do you specify my footings?

No; these are site specific, and must be specified by others to suit.

How do I order my frame after I have a design and price?

Order from any Bunnings store from the Special Orders or Trade desks.

Will I need engineer’s Certification for my deck?

Check with your local Council or private certifier to see if it is required. This may not be needed for replacement decks, or low decks in some cases.

How do I order the optional letter of Certification, if needed?

Just order the Optional “Certificate of Compliance” from Bunnings, using the item code: 0911004.

Does the Optional letter of Certification cover footings and connection to my house?

No; it is for the floor frame only. It does not cover footings or connections to existing structures, as these are site specific.

How long does it take to deliver my frame, once I order it?

Allow 15-20 working days depending on location.
